What is Soaru?
Soaru is a Brazilian live music marketplace that connects professional musicians (bands, solo acts and DJs) to clients — individuals who want music at events and venues such as bars, restaurants and concert halls. The platform offers geolocation search, rich profiles with audiovisual portfolios, a booking system with a real-time calendar, integrated payment with escrow via Pagar.me and reviews verified by CPF.
How do I book a musician on Soaru?
In four steps: (1) search by city and music genre at /search; (2) open the musician's profile and choose a package preset by radius and duration; (3) select the event date and location — the system checks availability on the musician's calendar; (4) pay with PIX or card in up to 12 installments. The money is held in escrow at Pagar.me until 48h after the show takes place.
Does Soaru charge any fee to the client?
No. Using Soaru is 100% free for clients (individuals and venues). The platform sustains itself by charging a commission only from the booked musician, which varies by plan: 10% on Free, 7% on Pro ($5.38/month) and 5% on VIP ($14.38/month). You pay only the fee agreed with the musician.
How does the musician get paid?
The payment is processed by Pagar.me, which holds the amount in escrow until 48 hours after the event date. Once the show takes place and both parties confirm (client and musician mark 'show completed' in the app), the system automatically releases the split: the musician receives the fee and Soaru keeps the commission. There is no manual handling, preventing defaults.
Is it safe to book through Soaru?
Yes. Soaru applies multiple layers of security: (1) payment via escrow at Pagar.me, so the money is only released after the event; (2) reviews verified by CPF (a single review per client and musician), eliminating fake reviews; (3) registration with algorithmic CPF/CNPJ validation; (4) clear cancellation and refund policies; (5) support for disputes in exceptional cases.
Which cities and genres are available?
Soaru covers all of Brazil and is in its launch phase. Search works by geolocation with an adjustable radius from 5 to 500 km, so any city in Brazil — from capitals to the countryside — can be searched. Since the platform is new, musicians who sign up now tend to be the first in their cities to appear in regional searches. There are 18 music genres mapped, including MPB, samba, bossa nova, pagode, sertanejo, forró, funk, rock, pop, jazz, blues, reggae, electronic, hip-hop/rap, gospel and classical, plus DJs.
How much does it cost for a musician to sign up?
Signing up on Soaru is free and the Free plan has no monthly fee — musicians pay only a 10% commission on completed bookings. The Pro ($5.38/month, 7% commission) and VIP ($14.38/month, 5% commission) plans offer greater visibility in the search ranking, more media slots (videos and photos) and a verification badge.
How does booking cancellation work?
The cancellation policy is transparent: if the client cancels more than 7 days in advance, the refund is full; between 48 hours and 7 days, the refund is 50%; with less than 48 hours, there is no refund. If the musician cancels at any time, the client gets 100% back and the musician receives a penalty on their profile. Three cancellations by the musician within six months suspend the account.
